Leavo vs Vacation Tracker

Vacation Tracker: Leave tracking that lives inside Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Workspace. Leavo: leave, time and shifts in one platform, free under nine. Here is how they line up on what you pay, what you get, and who each one actually suits.

The short version

Pick Vacation Tracker if your team requests and approves leave in Slack or Teams and you want it to stay there. Pick Leavo if you are under nine people and want a genuinely free tool, or if you want time tracking and shift planning included rather than bolted on. Neither runs payroll.

What this comparison can and cannot tell you

Everything above comes from the two vendors’ published pricing and product documentation. It tells you what each product is designed to do and what it costs. It does not tell you how either behaves over a year with a real team — whether a carryover cap fires on the right date, or what the audit log records after a policy edit. Our Leavo review lists exactly what has and has not been verified and publishes the test protocol.

Common questions

Which is cheaper for a team of 15, Leavo or Vacation Tracker?

On list prices checked 2026-09-15: Leavo Professional is $448 a year, about $37 a month for 15 members. Vacation Tracker is $15 a month on Core before the minimum charge; $45 on Complete. A minimum monthly charge applies on both plans. Below nine members Leavo is free and Vacation Tracker is not.

Does Vacation Tracker do time tracking and shifts like Leavo?

Vacation Tracker: Hourly leave tracking on Complete; no timesheets or clock-in. Shifts: No. Leavo includes time tracking and shift planning alongside leave in every tier.

Can I switch from one to the other without losing balances?

Both publish balance reports or exports that can be re-entered as opening balances in the other tool. Do the switch at a leave-year boundary where possible, export the audit history first, and keep the old account read-only for a year in case a departing employee disputes a balance.
